The British General Election: A Fight for Our Children’s Future

The current Conservative government has implemented such drastic cuts in education that the current budget is at its lowest level in twenty years. For instance, in the borough of Greenwich where I reside, the government plans to cut £24 million from school budgets by 2019. This is equivalent to reducing the teaching force by 641 teachers.

Such ruthless cuts will undoubtedly lead to overcrowded classrooms for our children, a decrease in school staff, and a reduction in extracurricular activities—directly hindering the personal development of our youth. The only way to prevent this is to bring the Labour Party, a champion of social justice, into power.

In the upcoming General Election on June 8, I urge everyone to support Labour Party candidates in their respective constituencies with an overwhelming majority. Personally, I am contributing my efforts to the campaigns of our current Greenwich MPs, Clive Efford and Matthew Pennycook, as well as my dear friend Dr. Bachu Kailash Kaini, the candidate for the neighbouring constituency of Dartford. What about you?
